About

Discovery is
the hard part.

Shipping a fitness app is one thing; getting it found is another. Store search leans on installs, ratings and review counts, all of which an app accumulates only after people have already found it. App store optimisation moves the needle at the margins — the right keywords, a clearer icon, better screenshots — but it works within a ranking that is largely settled before a new app arrives.

The store categories don't help much either. They were built for software in general rather than for training, so searching for “rowing” returns machines, games and podcasts alongside the two apps you actually wanted.

This is a directory of fitness and sports apps and nothing else, organised the way people look for them: by what the app is for, and by the sport it's built around. An app can sit under more than one sport, because plenty genuinely do.

How it's ordered

A board that resets every Monday

The board ranks apps by member upvotes this week, then by clicks through to the store, and starts again every Monday — so an app released last week competes on the same footing as one that has been out for years. Every board can also be read newest first or by most clicked.

Apps launched this month lists what has just shipped to the store, by sport and by category, with every earlier month of the year alongside it. A recent release is easy to find here in a way it isn't on a chart ordered by install count.

Clicks go straight to the store page, with tracking parameters stripped and no referrer attached. Highlighted apps are labelled as such and never change a rank.

It's not a review site. We don't test the apps listed here, and being in the directory isn't a recommendation — it means the app exists and someone added it.
